Changed netCDF internal format from CDF-2 to CDF-5

Need to use CDF-5 instead of CDF-2 to accommodate very large domains where a single variable exceeds "4-billion array elements"; see https://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/netcdf/docs/netcdf_introduction.html#netcdf_64bit_data_format. Code changes follow from Schwitalla (2019, GMD).
